Human Resources' Learning and Development team is pleased to advise you that the 2011/12 Annual Continuing Education (ACE) modules are now available to all Alberta Health Services staff. Previously known as Annual Compulsory Education, the name of the modules has changed to reflect employee feedback received last year via the module evaluation forms.
Purpose
The ACE modules cover basic health and safety, emergency, information and privacy requirements.
We encourage you to complete the ACE modules. In addition to providing you with valuable information required to do your job, completion of these modules demonstrates compliance with collective agreements, legislation and accreditation standards.
AHS is committed to providing you with the tools you need to achieve excellence in the workplace. However, it is important to note that this training does not replace hands-on in-servicing and some employee groups may require additional information. If you are unsure about your specific education requirements, please speak with your manager.
How to participate
You can access the modules by searching “Annual” in MyLearningLink. The training includes reading materials and a quiz. When you finish a module using MyLearningLink, your final mark is recorded on the system.
You also have the option of printing the reading materials and quiz from Insite. When you complete each module, you must self-mark the quiz using an answer key provided on the bottom of the last page. In some cases, you may be asked to give your completed module to your manager. If you obtain access to MyLearningLink at a later date, you can report that you completed the printed module as an ‘external learning event’ on your learning record.
Course material
ACE modules cover the following topics:
- Infection Prevention & Control
- Emergency/Disaster Management
- Fire and Life Safety
- Information Privacy and IT Security & Compliance
